Cybernaut Studio (Pty) Ltd is a software development studio in Johannesburg, South Africa, run by founder Jean-Jacques Strydom. We build custom software for businesses, build and run our own SaaS products, and build websites for small South African businesses.
Why we exist
Good businesses outgrow improvised systems.
Spreadsheets, shared inboxes and manual handovers carry a business a long way. As the team and the workload grow, they get harder to control. Information gets duplicated, reports take longer and good people spend their days holding the system together.
We build focused software for that stage. We learn how the work happens, find the bottleneck worth solving and build a system that gives the business room to grow.
We also build our own products. The first is TraceGrid, project control for South African industrial contractors.
The founder
Jean-Jacques Strydom
Jean-Jacques Strydom founded Cybernaut Studio and registered the company in June 2026.
Jean-Jacques is self-taught, with roughly eight years of experience building across web, mobile, graphics programming and systems development.
Jean-Jacques stays involved from the first conversation through to development and support. The context gathered from your team stays close to the technical decisions that shape your system.
How we work
A few things stay the same on every project.
Every project follows four steps: understand, shape, build and improve. Work is delivered in clear milestones that you review as we go. Laravel is our main framework for custom business applications, and we choose the rest of the stack per project.

The first release solves a complete problem and leaves room for sensible improvements.

Scope, access, responsibilities, source code and ongoing arrangements are written down.
